K Mithani pieces are made from full grain leathers and natural fibres selected for their quality and longevity. Treated well, they will last decades and improve with age.
Leather goods
- Keep away from prolonged direct sunlight and heat sources, which can dry and fade leather
- If wet, allow to dry naturally in a warm room away from direct heat.
- Store in the dust bag provided when not in use
- Avoid contact with sharp objects, rough surfaces and chemicals including perfume and hand sanitiser
Full grain leather will develop a patina over time — this is a natural and desirable quality, not a defect. Marks and scuffs will often diminish with gentle conditioning.
Vegetable tanned leather
Some pieces use vegetable tanned leather, which is particularly responsive to conditioning and develops a rich patina with use. It is more sensitive to water than chrome-tanned leather. Wipe with a damp microfibre cloth and maintain with a small amount of high quality leather conditioner.
Cashmere
- Hand wash in cool water with a small amount of wool or cashmere detergent
- Do not wring or twist, gently press out excess water
- Dry flat on a clean towel, reshaping while damp
- Do not tumble dry or hang to dry, as this can distort the shape
- Store folded, not hung, to avoid stretching
- Pilling is natural with cashmere, use a cashmere comb to gently remove pills
